Guests around HOUSEWINE’s open black Defender, set up as a mobile wine bar in a courtyard.

The bar rides along

Mobile wine bar hire, with the black Defender as the meeting point

Hire a mobile wine bar from HOUSEWINE and you’ll see a black Land Rover Defender drive into the courtyard, across the field or onto the company site. The tailgate opens and there’s your bar: chillers, glassware, bottles and speakers are already on board. Our team pours wine, bubbles and alcohol-free alternatives, to music that suits your celebration.

What rides along in the Defender

We match the number of bottles, glasses and bar staff to your guest count and the length of the party. These are the building blocks we work out in your proposal.

  • The Defender as a bar, with chillers and glassware
  • Wine, bubbles and, always, alcohol-free alternatives
  • A bar team that pours in HOUSEWINE style
  • Music through our speakers, plus mood lighting
  • Agreements on location, power and a wet-weather plan
  • Coordination with your caterer, planner or venue

Why a Defender

Where the tailgate opens, your guests gather

Watch what happens at a reception as soon as the Defender’s tailgate opens. Guests who haven’t met yet head for the same spot. Glasses are ready, music is playing, someone is pouring. A bar in a black Land Rover isn’t a counter that happens to move; it’s a place with real pull: people arrange to meet there, pose in front of it and stay for one more glass.

Behind that picture lies careful preparation. How wide is the gate, how firm is the ground, where’s the nearest socket? We can manage without power too, as long as we know beforehand. The time we’re allowed to drive on site is also fixed before we set off. After all, anyone welcoming their first guests at five o’clock wants the bottles cold and the glasses gleaming by then.

That preparation takes the bar to places where a fixed bar counter wouldn’t fit: a field behind a farmhouse, a company site between two warehouses, a rooftop you can reach by car. If the Defender really can’t get there, we’ll work out a bar set-up in the same style together. The vehicle sets off from Antwerp and drives to parties all over Belgium, and across the border into the Netherlands and northern France; for events there, we add a contribution towards transport costs.

Working together, step by step

How to book the Defender for your party

It starts with a short briefing: the date, the address, an estimate of guest numbers and the kind of celebration. Is it a wedding with a garden reception, or a client evening among the office buildings? With those details we put together a tailored proposal, which you’ll receive within two working days. It sets out in black and white what’s included, such as glassware, refrigeration, ice and the bar team.

Next comes the site check. Send us photos and measurements of the spot, and we’ll see whether the Defender can get into position easily. We agree the wet-weather plan at the same time: where does the vehicle go if the grass is waterlogged, and which covered area takes over the pouring if it keeps bucketing down? On the day itself, we coordinate with your caterer, planner or the venue team.

Frequently asked questions

How much space does the Defender need?
Allow for a level, accessible spot of roughly six by four metres, on ground that can bear the vehicle’s weight. Unsure about a slope, a narrow entrance or soft grass? Mention it straight away in your enquiry and we’ll take it into account in the proposal.
How many guests can I hire the mobile wine bar for?
The mobile wine bar works for groups from around thirty people, but also for events with more than 500 guests. With a larger group, more bar staff stand behind the Defender and we provide more glassware; we set the right staffing level in your proposal.
How far ahead should I book?
For a date between May and September, we recommend booking three to six months in advance. Got less time? Send your enquiry anyway. Even for a party at short notice, we’re happy to check whether the Defender is still free.
How much does it cost to hire a mobile wine bar?
We don’t publish a fixed price list. What you pay depends on your guest numbers, how long we pour, which drinks you choose, how many people work behind the bar and how far we travel. That’s why you always receive a tailored proposal, built around your party.
